Eric Reid is adding on-field fines to his collusion case after a baffling $26K fine

Eric Reid is adding on-field fines to his collusion case after a baffling $26K fine When Eric Reid signed with the Panthers in September, he made it clear that the signing wouldn’t lead to the dropping of his collusion grievance against the NFL. In fact, his treatment from the league since returning to the field may be strengthening his claim. Reid was fined $26,739 for his hit on Buccaneers receiver Adam Humphries last week. Reid was not penalized during the game for the hit, and he appeared to hit Humphries in the chest with his arms. The Panthers safety spoke to reporters on Tuesday and said that he would be adding the NFL’s on-field fines to his collusion claim. Reid contested that the league blackballed and then continued to punish him for his social justice protests during the national anthem. This was the third fine since Reid joined the Panthers. He had a $10,000 fine rescinded in October for a hit on Zach Ertz. He called this latest fine “blatant” on the NFL’

YG I SUPPORT KAEP & THE NFL ... Here's Why

YG I SUPPORT KAEP & THE NFL ... Here's Why Rap superstar  YG  says he's not choosing sides between  Colin Kaepernick  and the NFL ... saying he supports BOTH, and is explaining his stance. YG sat down with  Raquel Harper  on "Raq Rants" and talked about his relationship with Kaepernick, including personal conversations he's had with the embattled QB about his protest. The Compton native says he's 100% supportive of Kap and has told him so, but isn't boycotting the NFL -- as a matter of fact, he's been one of the  most visible and vocal fans of the L.A. Rams all season. "We African-Americans, we grow up looking as basketball, football and rap as our way to get out." YG is essentially saying what a lot of people have pointed out ... that while he agrees the league is  doing Kap dirty  ... he feels it's up to him to support the young black men that are still playing and making a living. BTW -- YG goes in on this, and a lot m

Letter banning large afros for school concert fires up Facebook

Letter banning large afros for school concert fires up Facebook A letter spelling out the dress code for a holiday concert at Pleasant Run Middle School started a firestorm on Facebook over the weekend. The letter was posted, and shared hundreds of times. Comments from Facebook said the requirements targeted black students and were racist. Many called for the teacher who sent it, vocal music teacher Steven Reeves to be fired. Reeves, who is black, was hired in August and his listed educational background said he had a masters degree and hours towards his doctorate with five years of experience. The letter, sent to parents of middle school students in the vocal ensemble, was explicit in its direction as to how students who were participating should look. The letter instructed boys that they should "receive appropriate barber attention the evening before the concert. Mohawks, 'Barber Designs' and Large Afros are unacceptable," the letter said. "Me

Nine white supremacists charged in Washington state hate crime attack

Nine white supremacists charged in Washington state hate crime attack The attack came just hours after guilty verdicts against a white nationalist in Charlottesville. Nine suspects associated with some of the country’s most established and violent white supremacist groups have been  arrested on hate crimes charges , the Southern Poverty Law Center reports. They were detained early Saturday, mere hours after James Alex Fields, Jr., the neo-Nazi who drove his car into a crowd of anti-racist protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, was found guilty of first-degree murder  in the death of Heather Heyer. The nine people arrested allegedly attacked a black DJ at the Rec Room Bar in Lynwood, Washington while shouting racist slurs at him. The DJ was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and some of his equipment was also damaged. Lynwood is just across Puget Sound from Whidbey Island, where on December 8, 1984, Robert Jay Mathews became a white suprem

NFL fines Panthers safety Eric Reid again for hit on Adam Humphries

NFL fines Panthers safety Eric Reid again for hit on Adam Humphries The NFL is reaching into Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid’s pocket again. According to a report by Tom Pelissero at NFL Network, the league has fined Reid for a hit that was not flagged against Buccaneers wide receiver Adam Humphries last week. It will cost him $26,739. Reid has had one fine rescinded already this year, getting his money back from an “unnecessary roughness” penalty when he flipped Eagles tight end Zach Ertz, who was charging at him. Reid has also been ejected from a game for a hit on a sliding Ben Roethlisberger and subjected to five “random” drug tests since joining the Panthers. He’s also had a game-winning interception taken away from him by the officials.

Confederate Statue 'Silent Sam' Could Return to UNC Chapel Hill

Confederate Statue 'Silent Sam' Could Return to UNC Chapel Hill The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hell-bent on having a Confederate statue on campus. Unfortunately for them, 26-year-old graduate student Maya Little is equally as committed to stopping them. As such, according to NPR , she was arrested, charged with inciting a riot and assaulting a police officer after spearheading a rally against this racist ass monument on Monday night. Her protest was in response to the university’s recommendation that a statue of Confederate soldier “Silent Sam”—the same “Silent Sam” that got his wig split and his edges snatched in August —make its unceremonious return to campus. In a tweet unofficially titled, “Dear UNC Chapel Hill, I’m With The Shits,” Little let ‘em know what time it is: “Today I was charged with two bs misdemeanors including ‘inciting a riot’ and trespassing from a major area of the campus I work and study on,” she wrote. “UNC and i
