Why The 'Race Card' Is Played

Data collected by the  Washington Post  on the use of lethal force by police officers since 2015 indicate that, relative to the portion of the population, Blacks are over-represented among all those killed by police  under all circumstances . As is evident in Figure 1 below, (looking at the top blue bar) according to the US Census estimates, Blacks made up 13% of the population. However, in 2015 they accounted for 26% of those that were killed by police, in 2016, 24%, and in 2017, 23% of all those killed by police. In other words, Blacks were the victims of the lethal use of force by police at nearly twice their rate in the general population. Whites make up the plurality of victims of police use of lethal force (47% in 2017),  BUT  they also make the majority of the population (61% in 2018). Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger wants more done to stamp out racism in football: 'I wish other clubs follow our example' Antonio Rudiger  says he has a lot in common with  Manchester City  star  Raheem Sterling  over suffering racist abuse and has challenged clubs to follow  Chelsea ’s lead in clamping down on fans who target players. Chelsea face Pep Guardiola’s side on Sunday for the first time since Sterling was on the receiving end of offensive comments during the League game at Stamford Bridge in December. Four supporters were suspended by Chelsea from attending their matches pending further investigation from the police. While all four denied there was a racial theme behind the attack, it is understood the inquiry into their behaviour is still ongoing. NRA TV had Daily Caller reporter Amber Athey on to attack a Muslim Democrat the right-wing has been attacking claiming anti-Semitism. Unfortunately, the NRA didn’t think before choosing the commentator. Media Matters researcher Timothy Johnson clipped the video of Athey alleging anti-Semitism and put it beside old tweets from Athey making fun of Jews. “How many Jews can fit in a clown car? 1002. 2 in the seats and 1000 in the ash trays [sic],” she tweeted. “What happens when a jew with an erection walks into a wall? they break their nose,” was another tweet. #whytheracecardisplayed

‘Overtly racist’: Virginia students display Confederate flags during Spirit Week BEDFORD, VA (WDBJ) - Many expressed outraged after a social media post showed students posing with Confederate flags at Jefferson Forest High School. Video submitted to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram shows students in Southlake, Texas saying the n-word including two Southlake Caroll students. In Oct 2018, a similar video was circulated of students at a Southlake school chanting the n-word. The notion of different cultures melting into one has been applied to America almost since its founding. But with almost every new day we’re besieged by old thinking. There are simply a lot of base elements in this melting pot that have yet to soften. Thus, a second disturbing Internet video of at least one white Southlake Carroll student chanting the n-word repeatedly in a car with several other youths — including one other Carroll student — after a similar video shocked the community and the conscience last fall. #whytheracecardisplayed

Video of the meeting shows Liam Holmes drop down. The council invited Cub Scout Pack 451 to lead the pledge. Liam said he is a Cub Scout. "What I did was took a knee against racial discrimination, which is basically when people are mean to other people of different colors," said Liam. His dad, Scott Holmes, said he talked to Liam about it beforehand, but he wasn't sure if he'd follow through. "When he did it I was really surprised and also really proud of him," Scott Holmes said.
