(Reuters) - Police arrested a 17-year-old boy on Friday over a racist threat of violence posted online that prompted authorities to close all the schools in Charlottesville, Virginia, for two days.

Former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger has a trial date for her role in the shooting death of Botham Jean, an unarmed black man.  NBC 5 reports that court records show Guyger’s trial will begin Aug. 12.

A member of the Aryan Nation was arrested Tuesday on charges of raping and kidnapping a Black woman, police said.

A teacher in Westchester reportedly held a fake slave auction with black students Today in horrific news, a fifth-grade teacher at Chapel School allegedly held a mock slave auction for her class. She told white students to bid on black students and she acted as the auctioneer. Interim university President Randy Boyd announced Thursday that tuition and fees will be covered for students with household incomes under $50,000 a year.
