Black jurors in police chief’s hate crime trial were anti-racist, not ‘anti-police,’ prosecutors say
Nucera’s attorney Rocco Cipparone, a former federal prosecutor himself, described one of the black jurors as a “stealth juror” who hid her belief that police regularly mistreat black men, partially influenced by officers once stopping her son three times in a night for “driving while black.” She should have been stricken from the jury pool, Cipparone argued.
