In an interview with TheBlaze's Glenn Beck, former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said that mass shooter Dylann Roof "hijacked" what people in South Carolina viewed as a symbol of "service, and sacrifice and heritage." Roof – whose June 2015 shooting at a Baptist church in Charleston led to the deaths of nine Black people – was convicted and sentenced to death for murder in 2017. Haley, who served as governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017, ordered that the Confederate flag be removed from statehouse grounds in 2015.

Once I walked in, everything looked and felt normal. It was loud from all the talking and yelling among the inmates. Guys playing cards, working out, and the TV blaring. As I walked through the unit on my way to my cell, I noticed the 'A team', Tremain, Shy, and the other 2 'leaders' were all together. Gathered around the television. 2 of them are sitting including the 'head honcho' Tremain. While Shy along with another 'boss', were standing against the wall near my cell. Politicin.

Police use of force is a controversial issue, but the broader consequences and spillover effects are not well understood. This study examines the impact of in utero exposure to police killings of unarmed blacks in the residential environment on black infants’ health.
Using a preregistered, quasi-experimental design and data from 3.9 million birth records in California from 2007 to 2016, the findings show that police killings of unarmed blacks substantially decrease the birth weight and gestational age of black infants residing nearby.
There is no discernible effect on white and Hispanic infants or for police killings of armed blacks and other race victims, suggesting that the effect reflects stress and anxiety related to perceived injustice and discrimination. Police violence thus has spillover effects on the health of newborn infants that contribute to enduring black-white disparities in infant health and the inter-generational transmission of disadvantage at the earliest stages o…

If you spend your time and money on trying to help your kids get the best education possible and you’re white, the Times thinks you’re contributing to structural racism. If you’re not white, the Times assumes that you are the victim of structural racism and can’t be expected to muster the energy to sacrifice for your kids (those that do, like a family of Ghanian immigrants who were interviewed while standing in line, are treated as exceptions to this rule).

Denby coach Deon Godrey said the racist remarks started when players took a knee during the national anthem before the game. “Our cameraman is white and was filming near some Almont fans,” Godfrey said. “During the national anthem, he overheard them saying: ‘Look at these N-words taking a knee and they don’t even know why they’re doing it,’ and they kept going.”
Godrey also said that Denby’s white coaches were being called “wiggers” and he said “grown men and women started spitting on our kids as they walked up the ramp. They were throwing food, cups and whatever.”

"The anxiety of whites is coming from a misperception that their dominant status in society is being threatened, which is manifesting in multiple forms of psychological and physiological stress," said Siddiqi. This stress has resulted in what researchers call "deaths of despair." While mortality rates trend higher for whites, the increased causes of death have been due to alcohol consumption, opioid use, opioid overdose and suicides. According to the study, rising chronic diseases—which includes hypertension and obesity—also contributed to this trend.

LARAMIE, Wyo. — It had been nearly 50 years since the University of Wyoming banished 14 black players from its football team, but the decades-old dispute was all Tom Burman could think about as he guided his car across the grain-colored plains stretching from the Denver airport to campus.
The university’s athletic director had spent the previous night in Orlando watching the players — known as the “Black 14” — accept an award and explain how they had been kicked off the team in 1969 after trying to ask their coach if they could wear black armbands during an upcoming game. They had wanted to show solidarity against racism at a time when civil rights protests were common on the nation’s college campuses.
