This week, Johnson tweeted that she was "confused" after seeing an affluent African-American man driving a BMW with NRA and Tea Party bumper stickers.  "It was pretty evident that she made an assumption about a black man in a BMW based on bumper stickers he had on his car," Noir said, inviting Johnson to come on his show for a discussion.  "It bothered me because it prejudged me as somebody who can't believe a certain thing simply due to my race." 

Woman calls cops on black Oregon lawmaker campaigning in her district While campaigning in her district, the cops were called on a black lawmaker as she was meeting voters door to door. Rep. Janelle Bynum represents the 51st District in the Oregon House of Representatives, which encompasses Clackamas County, where she was canvassing a neighborhood when the police were called Tuesday. The Democrat was 1.5 miles away from her own home at the time, she said. Bynum told ABC News that upon being approached by the officer, she was in disbelief and just “wanted to know why I had triggered suspicion.” The officer mentioned that the caller was suspicious because she was spending a lot of time typing at the end of driveways, Bynum said. “She is not in any business or has any badge or anything," the caller stated on the 911 call, adding that “she spends more time at the end of the driveway when people aren’t home.”

White Texas man guns down black teenager for setting off fireworks — then claims self-defense : A white man in Austin has been charged with first-degree murder after shooting and killing a black teen over a fireworks dispute early on Independence Day. Black Man Forced to Crawl at Gunpoint After Police Thwart Imaginary Robbery California officers prevented a nonexistent armed robbery by holding a man at gunpoint and forcing him to crawl on the ground as his uncle and girlfriend watched in horror. Vincent Lemar, who posted a video of the incident to Facebook, said he and his nephew Levell Johnson were attempting to leave the Fresno, Calif., T-Mobile store when Lemar spotted a police officer with his weapon drawn. Lemar alerted his 26-year-old nephew and as Johnson exited the store, the police pointed guns at Johnson and told him to lie face down on the pavement and crawl toward them using his fingers. In the video, you can hear cops use a bullhorn to shout instructions at Johnson. Meanwhile, Johnson’s girlfriend can be seen in the parking lot, watching the entire incident from yards away while police say they were “being confronted” her.

Study future teachers are already biased against black That black school children are treated more harshly than white children by teachers is no secret, as  plenty of studies  and  painful anecdotes  have repeatedly shown. But some recent research  published  in the journal  Contemporary Educational Psychology suggests an even more discouraging reality: The incoming generation of teachers shows bias against black kids, too. Researchers at North Carolina State University and elsewhere recruited 40 college students (most of whom were white) who were training to become teachers. They asked the volunteers to look at pictures of 20 black and white men and women, and then to identify one of five emotions the actors were showing (happiness, anger, surprise, sadness, or fear). A previous experiment by the researchers used 20 human volunteers and facial recognition software to pinpoint the emotion shown in each photo.

West Point appoints Darryl A. Williams as first black superintendent The United States Military Academy at West Point has appointed the first African-American superintendent in its 216-year history. Lt. Gen. Darryl A. Williams kicked off his first day as the academy's 60th superintendent on Monday morning with an assumption of command ceremony, according to a  news release  from West Point. He succeeds Lt. Gen. Robert L. Caslen, who had held the position since 2013.

The historically progressive school reportedly counts the children of celebrities including David Schwimmer and Christy Turlington Burns among its student body. Kassen did not respond to Fox News' request for comment. The New York Post reports that each grade, which has approximately 40 students, has two homerooms. Students remain with their homeroom groups for 30 percent of the school day.

89-year-old black grandmother forced to use bathroom outside after NC gas station refuses to let her use theirs An attendant at a North Carolina  gas station refused to let a black 89-year-old woman use the store’s restroom  — forcing her to relieve herself outside in 90-degree weather. Charlotte, NC’s WBTV reported that Evelyn Redic was on a church trip when the van she was riding in had a flat tire. According to Redic’s granddaughter, Katossa Glover, the attendant at the Shell gas station denied her use of the store’s facilities despite her age and frailty. Redic’s granddaughter noted in her now-viral post that the elderly woman had just been released from the hospital after having a stroke — a fact one of her fellow churchgoers explained to the attendant. Priest calls police on Black funeral attendees, kicks them out of church  funeral last Tuesday in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, came to an abrupt end when one of the attendees accidentally knocked over a chalice and the priest responded by kicking them out and calling the police. Agnes Hicks had been baptized at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church as a child, and according to her family had always wanted to have her funeral there as well. According to  The Root , the funeral was going just fine until one attendee went to hug another, and in the process accidentally knocked over a chalice and damaged it. Pastor Michael Briese reportedly told the family, “There will be no funeral, no repast, everyone get the hell out of my church.” Adding even further insult to the grieving family, Briese then also called the police, who arrived as the family was carrying Hicks’ casket out of the church. The latest slab of marble bullshit was put up near Mobile, Ala., this past May by the Sons of Confederate Veterans, a non-profit group founded in 1896 that seeks to memorialize and pay tribute to soldiers who fought against the United States to preserve the practice of human bondage. “A memorial to the Confederate Soldiers.
