‘Protesting during the anthem is not the time or venue‘

‘Protesting during the anthem is not the time or venue‘ Protesting during the anthem is not the time or venue‘ – NFL star Prescott on kneeling issue Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has wieghed in on the NFL anthem protest issue, accusing the players who kneel during performances of The Star-Spangled Banner of “taking the fun out of football”. Prescott, 25, was asked about the player-led kneeling protests aimed at highlighting social injustice in the US and initiated by former San Francisco 49ers player Colin Kaepernick, to which he replied he believed protesting during the pre-game playing of the national anthem was not “the time or the venue to do so”. “I’d never protest during the anthem, and I don’t think that’s the time or the venue to do so,” Prescott said. “The game of football has always brought me such peace, and I think it does the same for a lot of people.” The 2016 Pro Bowl player the went on to say the controversy of the protests should not be brought into

While some people might still be busy setting their Nike socks on fire to protest the sportswear company's backing of Kap, the brand seems to be doing just fine. Kaepernick's T-shirts sold out within hours of releasing.  The brand originally made its pro-Kap stance known this past Labor Day weekend when it debuted its latest ad campaign celebrating the 30th anniversary of "Just Do It." Some people decided to boycott Nike after the announcement, but Nike's stock prices and sales have still managed to soar since its debut.  Kaepernick's Icon T-shirt is a black long sleeve that features reflective designs including a Swoosh on the left sleeve, the phrase "Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything," a cluster of special logos posi

Eric Reid improving play of Carolina Panthers secondary

Eric Reid improving play of Carolina Panthers secondary Safety Eric Reid is settling into his secondary role with the Carolina Panthers. Carolina Panthers general manager Marty Hurney and coach  Ron Rivera  knew they needed a safety after placing  Da’Norris Searcy  on injured reserve when he suffered a second concussion in just a matter of weeks.  Eric Reid , a former first-round pick and Pro Bowl (2013) nominee, was available but closely tied to  Colin Kaepernick  and kneeling during the national anthem as a way to raise awareness for social injustice. He had also filed a collusion lawsuit against the NFL and its owners as he remained unsigned following last season and an extended free agent period. Other teams had suffered injuries at safety, some even employed less talented players, but no one was looking to sign Reid – except for Carolina. New owner David Tepper wasn’t listed in the lawsuit as he became an owner after it was filed. Hurney and Rivera  made a football

JD  made sure to address  his real motivation for partnering up with the NFL. “I mean, for me, this don’t have nothing to do with football. Rihanna says no to Super Bowl halftime invite — social media explodes

Rihanna says no to Super Bowl halftime invite — social media explodes When the National Football League (NFL) invited Rihanna to perform at the upcoming Super Bowl, the nine-time Grammy-winner and Fenty business mogul took a knee. Reportedly, the pop princess not only said, “No,” but her words were more like, “Hell no.” Rihanna said she’s showing solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and NFL players who have been protesting racial disparities and police violence against Blacks and other minorities by kneeling during the playing of the national anthem. Rihanna’s reps didn’t immediately respond to requests from the NNPA Newswire for comment and an NFL spokesman said he wasn’t authorized to talk about the Super Bowl halftime show. “Rihanna was the front-runner for next year’s Super Bowl halftime show,” NBC’s  Today Show  reported, quoting an unnamed source. The network also reported that fellow superstar P!nk also turned the NFL down in support of Kaepernick. “CBS and the NFL reach

Earlier this week, Kelly was criticized for her comments on blackface during a roundtable discussion on her program about offensive Halloween costumes. Kelly, who was widely chastised for the remarks, later apologized on the air. #megynkelly Source: today.com

‘I will not tolerate violent Mexicans’: Kirstjen Nielsen tells Fox News that Border Patrol may shoot at migrant caravan ‘to defend themselves’

‘I will not tolerate violent Mexicans’: Kirstjen Nielsen tells Fox News that Border Patrol may shoot at migrant caravan ‘to defend themselves’ In a Fox News interview filmed at the US-Mexico border, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen left open the possibility that Border Patrol agents can use force on the caravan of Latin American migrants making their up through Mexico. “Is there any scenario under which if people force their way across the border, they could be shot at?” Fox News host Martha McCallum asked the DHS secretary. “We do not have any intention to shoot at people,” Nielsen said, “but they will be apprehended.” She then added that she takes the safety of the officers and agents under her watch “extraordinarily seriously.” “They do have the ability of force to defend themselves,” the Homeland Security chief said. McCallum asked Nielsen if agents would “shoot back” if migrants were to shoot at them first. “I will make it clear that we absolutely will

MY TIME BEHIND BARS WITH MS-13

MY TIME BEHIND BARS WITH MS-13 On august 12th, 2017. I caught a 2nd Degree Assault Charge in long Island New York. I live in the city. But how i got caught up out there in LI isn't important. What is important is that i was remanded to Nassau County Jail. While being transported there, I overheard the usual new inmate talk in the van. Guys cursing under there breath. Kickin themselves for getting caught. When we arrive at the jail and placed in the bullpen, the talk among the inmate took on a more serious tone. The topic switched from men feeling sorry for themselves to wondering out loud about where in the jail they would be housed. It wasn't my first time in jail or in this situation. But it was my first time in nassau county jail. Being new, my ears perked up. Getting insight on how overall violent the jail is and the type of gangs that were there is important information to know. During their conversations, three gangs where brought up the most. The Bloods, the

Charges Filed In Threat Of African-American Campaign Volunteer

Charges Filed In Threat Of African-American Campaign Volunteer Police have charged a man with threatening an African-American GOP volunteer Wednesday at an early voting precinct in Charlotte's Steele Creek area. According to Mecklenburg County Jail records, police have charged 28-year-old Jason Donald Wayne of Charlotte with four misdemeanor counts: ethnic intimidation, going armed to the terror of the people, disorderly conduct and communicating threats. The volunteer, Derek Partee posted on Facebook that he was stumping for Republican candidates when two white men and a woman approached him directing racial slurs at him. One of the men, he says, then lifted up his shirt and exposed a gun in a hip holster. Partee took photos and posted them on Facebook. He wrote: "I had to back off and call CMPD, folks are getting bold and forward." CMPD says officers were able to identify the three people and about seven hours later arrested the man with the pistol, which they

NBC’s Al Roker schools Megyn Kelly for defending blackface: ‘She owes a big apology to folks of color’

NBC’s Al Roker schools Megyn Kelly for defending blackface: ‘She owes a big apology to folks of color’ NBC’s Al Roker on Wednesday schooled  colleague Megyn Kelly for her widely panned defense of putting on blackface  for Halloween costumes. Reacting to Kelly’s statement on Tuesday that wearing blackface on Halloween “was okay” when she was growing up “as long as you were dressing up as… a character,” Roker recounted the painful history of white people using blackface to subject black Americans to cruel, racist ridicule. “While she apologized to the staff, she owes a bigger apology to folks of color around the country,” Roker said of Kelly’s comments. “This is a history going back to the 1830s — minstrel shows to demean and denigrate a race. [It] wasn’t right.” He also pointed out that blackckface isn’t just some relic of the ancient past, as it was still seen as acceptable to use during his lifetime. “I’m old enough to have lived through ‘Amos and Andy,’ where you ha

Halfin’s lawyer argued that his client is “not a racist” and that he hung the dolls outside the apartment of his upstairs neighbors — whose daughter was an infant at the time — due to a noise dispute. According to court records, the man also egged his neighbors’ car and “spread feces inside” of it. Halfin reportedly threw a noose onto their balcony and hung dolls outside of their apartment twice. Iowa Teacher Under Investigation For Wearing Blackface to Halloween Party

Iowa Teacher Under Investigation For Wearing Blackface to Halloween Party It’s almost Halloween, the time of year when sadists pretend that candy corn is not Satan’s butt plug and masochists terrorize their taste buds with pumpkin flavors, which is essentially sweet potatoes with low self-esteem. It is also the season when white people think it would be cute to cover their faces in shoe polish and use blackness as a costume and a comic device. An Iowa school district already under state supervision for discriminating against minority students is now investigating one of its own for breaking the district rule against doing dumb shit. Megan Luloff, a first-grade teacher at Walcott Elementary in Walcott, Iowa reportedly showed up to the Walcott American Legion’s “Boos Bash,” a Halloween party for the Grown & Stupid (and also how I describe a Trump rally), wearing blackface. According to the Quad City Times, Luloff reportedly came to the party with her entire crew, who dressed

MALCOLM JENKINS SAYS JAGUARS QUARTERBACKS PROVE COLIN KAEPERNICK DESERVES AN NFL JOB

MALCOLM JENKINS SAYS JAGUARS QUARTERBACKS PROVE COLIN KAEPERNICK DESERVES AN NFL JOB Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Malcolm Jenkins managed, in one comment, to both state Colin Kaepernick deserved a job in the NFL and insult his opponent he's scheduled to play on Sunday. Speaking with reporters, he sent a little shade toward Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles and perhaps backup Cody Kessler as well—both played in the team's loss last week to the Houston Texans.  "I can turn on the tape this week of our opponent and see that Colin Kaepernick deserves a job," Jenkins said, via multiple reports.  The Eagles are scheduled to play Bortles and Jacksonville on Sunday in a game in London. Jenkins has a point: Bortles hasn't been great, considering he got benched last week and has a passer rating of just 80.3,  good for 28th  in the league. Jenkins has been active in promoting social justice issues in the NFL but he was called a sell-out this we

Rihanna Working With Colin Kaepernick After Turning Down Super Bowl

Rihanna Working With Colin Kaepernick After Turning Down Super Bowl Just weeks after it was revealed  Rihanna turned down the 2019 Super Bowl halftime show in support of Colin Kaepernick,  the Bajan beauty has reportedly made plans to work with the activist-athlete in a “fun and powerful way.” Metro.co.uk  reports the singer is in discussions to have Keapernick feature in a new music video addressing social justice reform. “Colin was overwhelmed when he found out Rihanna turned down the Super Bowl to stand with him in his protest against anti-black violence and injustices,” claims a source at Metro. “He’d heard a little while before the rest of the world did and since then they’ve been speaking regularly and have decided to work on something related to social justice reform. “They’re both leaders in their lanes and believe they have the power to inspire positive change in a fun and powerful way.” A source exclusively told  US Weekly  that the “Work” singer “does not agree w
