When Colin Kaepernick decided to kneel for the National Anthem, I doubt he expected to make half of the impact that he has imparted on not only society, but America's political climate as well. In the wake of Kaepernick's absence from the NFL, many have taken up his cause and continued the protest, but his legacy has gone far beyond just the National Football League. This is most evident in the actions of Capital Christian High School, whose entire football team has kneeled in support of the fight against police brutality. (H/T to Overtime for providing the video below)
Unlike in the NFL, where typically only one player or a handful choose to speak out from each team, this high school squad stands (not literally) in protest as one cohesive unit.
Somewhere, Colin Kaepernick is watching this video with a smile on his face, as his vision has far from died in his absence from football. In fact, it may have only grown stronger.
Kaepernick has even amassed such a faithful following, that some have tried to vote him into this year's Pro Bowl in one last flip of the bird to the NFL.
Clearly the protests that Kaepernick initiated are far from over and from the looks of it, they will only continue to get stronger.
