Michael B. Jordan Says Travis Scott Shouldn’t Perform At Super Bowl
"Hopefully it's a rumor."
Michael B. Jordan wants Travis Scott to reconsider his reported invite to perform at the Super Bowl 53 halftime show with Maroon 5.
For now, Scott is only rumored to be on the guest list, but a growing chorus of names are stepping forward to discourage the decision in wake of the NFL boycott. Among them, Meek Mill, Al Sharpton and Jay Z, the latter of whom reportedly tried convince the “Sicko Mode” rapper not to do the show.
“Hopefully it’s a rumor,” Jordan told TMZ Saturday (July 22), when asked to for his thoughts on Scott. The Creed actor added, “We’re going to try to stick together on this,” in reference to a host of celebrities boycotting the biggest sports event of the year.
Scott’s name was thrown in the mix following reports that Maroon 5 was having trouble landing a special guest. In October, it was reported that Rihanna, an early selection for halftime headliner, declined to perform out of support for Colin Kaepernick and the ongoing boycott against the NFL’s national anthem policy, and handling of players protesting social justice issues.
Cardi B also turned down an invitation to perform, out of support of Kaepernick.
