Undefeated black team banned from youth football playoffs for ‘no reason’ after enduring season of racial slurs A predominantly black youth football team in Maryland was thrown of its league and banned from the playoffs without being given a reason, r e p o r t s F o x B a l t i m o r e . The Reisterstown Mustangs went undefeated in the Carroll County Youth Football and Cheer league, but after the season concluded, and before the playoffs, they were sent a letter saying they had been thrown out of the league and would not be allowed in the playoffs. “I believe it is the racial makeup of our program, because we don’t look like other programs in the league and we are treated differently,” said team president Marquita Melvin. “When you don’t give us a reason, the only thing it has to do with the makeup of our organization, because our organization is predominantly black, from top to bottom.” Reisterstown Mustangs team president Melvin said the children had to endure be

Trump deploys 5,200 active troops to Mexico border

Trump deploys 5,200 active troops to Mexico border Administration officials said last week that they were considering a plan to send up to 1,000 active-duty troops to the border, but that deployment, dubbed Operation Faithful Patriot, will now surpass 5,200, said Gen. Terrence O’Shaughnessy, commander of U.S. Northern Command. He said the number of troops could rise depending on the demands placed on U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents manning the border. "That is just the start of this operation," O’Shaughnessy said during a news conference at CBP headquarters in Washington on Monday. "Border security is national security." The troops will not conduct law enforcement activities, but some will be armed as they provide support to Border Patrol agents along the border. National Guard units have already been assisting by monitoring video surveillance feeds to direct Border Patrol agents manning the vast stretches between U.S. ports of entry. Th

LeBron James’ ‘Shut Up And Dribble’ Trailer Highlights Sports History’s Political Moments The title of the show was first said by Fox News’ Laura Ingraham who publicly told James and fellow athlete Kevin Durant to refrain from sharing their political ideologies and stick to their professions. For James, he turned that statement into a new program that’ll display why athletes like them simply can’t afford to “shut up and dribble.” On Saturday (Nov. 3), executive producers  LeBron James and Maverick Carter will debut their Showtime production titled  S h u t U p A n d D r i b b l e . The three-part documentary will analyze and revisit sports history’s most political and social moments. “The best thing she did was help me create more awareness,” James said after Ingraham’s comments went viral. The line “I am more than an athlete” soon came to fruition, encouraging pro-athletes across sports to join social movements. “I mean too much to society, too much to the youth, to

Black women have been talking about police sexual violence for a long time

Black women have been talking about police sexual violence for a long time That is certainly true of sexual violence by police officers, described as something “no one talks about” in a recent piece on The Root . Kaba is just one black woman whose work was erased by this casual stroke of the keyboard: She has been talking about the issue of sexual violence by police for years. Most recently, she lifted up the case of Tiawanda Moore, a black survivor of domestic violence who attempted to report a sexual assault by the officer who responded to her call for help when her boyfriend was beating her. She was instead prosecuted for recording investigating officers trying to dissuade her from filing the report. Kaba co-organized court watches , petition drives and statements of support for Moore, highlighting the systemic nature of police sexual violence, including officers’ pattern of predation on survivors of domestic violence. She is just one among many black women who have been
