'Fortnite' players immediately go to worst possible places
You can now create some of your favorite NFL players in “Fortnite.” You can also create some of the NFL’s least favorite players. (NFL)
“Fortnite” had to know this was coming when it made a deal with the NFL to create uniform skins for the league’s 32 teams.
The monstrously popular online shooter’s new NFL skins went online Friday night. Within hours, some of the game’s players had naturally reacted by using their newfound resources to recreate some of the most infamous players and moments in football history.
Of course “Fortnite” players are using NFL skins to do this
Here’s a quick sampling of the NFL skins some “Fortnite” fans have put together.
Starting it off light, we have everyone’s favorite NFL free agent Colin Kaepernick crouching, which sure looks a lot like kneeling in this game.
Moving on, there’s the self-harm section of this exercise, in which we see Jason Pierre-Paul and a backpack full of fireworks and Plaxico Burress carrying a handgun.
The presence of dogs in “Fortnite” also opened up one player to create Michael Vick and dredge up one of the most infamous falls from glory in NFL history.
Finally, we have what happens when you allow players to dress up their characters as NFL players in a game that revolves around the act of running around and shooting people.
One can imagine these skins are something the NFL would very much like to limit “Fortnite” players from creating, but they might just be the cost of doing business with the biggest video game on the planet.
